What David Taught Me About God’s Heart

I used to believe that being "A woman after God's own heart" meant that I had to measure up to a certain level of perfection. That if I fell asleep during my prayers at night, or didn't get into the word on any given day, or skipped church, or any number of faults, or even *gasp* sin, I somehow lost that heart, and had to work to be worthy of that title again.

It's Time To Rise

Sometimes it feels like we've been buried. Life is dark. You feel the weight of 6 foot of dirt and stones laying on top of you. I can't help but wonder if Lazarus while laying in his tomb being called forth felt the weight of darkness and death upon him. He wasn't buried- it was customary in that time to clean and anoint the body, wrap it in burial clothes, and then lay it to rest in a tomb or cave, blocking off the area around the dead to keep it from scavengers, so he wouldn't have felt the 6ft of dirt like we imagine in our traditional burials , but if you've ever lost a loved one, you know death in and of itself can be heavy. Which leads me back to thinking of Lazarus, laying dead, wrapped in his burial clothes, surrounded by stones, when in what everyone around him thought was his final sleep, he hears a voice call to him.

Why W(her)thy?

Have you ever looked in the mirror and questioned your worth? I have. Too many times to count. For years, I struggled with feeling like I wasn’t enough—like I had to earn my worth. But the truth is, our worth isn’t something we achieve. It’s something we are given by God.

Endings & New Beginnings

The journey to W(her)thy has been a roller coaster. Between physical sickness that seemed to hit more than usual, and battles with my mental health, getting the right medication dosages, and the cost of running a shop. It's been one thing after another stopping me from going forward with spreading the message to all women that they are WORTHY and LOVED by GOD.  It really shouldn't come as a surprise. We all know the enemy doesn't care until you start making moves that will advance the kingdom of God. Which is my ultimate goal.  Out of a desire to reach more people and help my family with the ever-increasing cost of living I've opened up a shop that sells carefully curated jewelry to remind each woman of they are worthy and beautiful. Each piece of jewelry in our collection is designed to be more than just an accessory—it’s a reminder. A symbol of God’s love, a whisper of encouragement on hard days, a reflection of His promises. Check out the collection by clicking the shopping cart below.

A Labor Of Love & Faith

It's taken months. Between fatigue, depression, anxiety, and all the other things life tends to throw at us, I'm proud to finally announce that our shop is open. I've spent hours curating, photographing and listing each item in hopes that you will find something that will help your faith grow, feel a little more loved, or inspire you or someone you love. This shop has been a labor of love and faith, stepping out in finances and healing and growing spiritually as I went. I can't wait to see what God does not only with this shop but the accompanying ministry and life changing opportunities that will follow. Be sure to save this page, join our facebook group and browse our shop page to help move this ministry along. I have no doubt that the spark that the Lord has put into me will soon become a flame.

The Devil Knows Where To Hit

My battle with mental health goes back as far as I can remember, there's never been a time where I don't remember having anxiety or depression- although as a child, I didn't quite know what I felt wasn't "normal".  The past couple years have been focused on healing of traumas, and it seems as if each time one heals, another pops up. But I guess that's just how healing is, once you start digging up the roots, you find deeper ones that are entangled with others. Once I felt God leading me to start W(her)thy as both a ministry and a small business it seemed like traumas and ptsd started coming to mind and causing trouble within my life mentally and physically. And while I don't believe the enemy causes mental illness I do believe very much he can use these events and memories as fiery darts to remind us of our past, side track, and distract us. If we're not careful it works. But this also gives us an amazing opportunity we may not have had before. We get the chance to inspect these roots and work on removing them. So that's what I've been doing, and while it has admittedly sidetracked me from my ministry and business goals, I believe it has benefitted me more greatly as I've had a chance to heal even more, allowing more room for grace, wisdom, knowledge that will only benefit the kingdom of God.

Happier Than A Bird With A French Fry

It sounds easy doesn't it? Just be happy. As someone with anxiety, depression, and an autoimmune disorder, this can be such a difficult task. If you've ever found yourself feeling hopeless, or just sad for no real logical reason, you're not alone. This can be a confusing and difficult time as a Christian, as your faith and hope rest in God, in your heart you have hope but your mind if filled with lies. These are the times when God's word and remembrance of His past faithfulness come into use. You may not believe it in the moment, but I encourage you to open your bible and focus on His word. Let it settle into your heart and mind. I find it helpful to have a small list of scriptures that resonate the most with me and put them around the house, or as a note or background on my phone, just put them somewhere you will see them often. It's not a cure, it won't take away the negative thoughts right away, but it WILL help you form positive thoughts, as you rebuild your neural pathways you will find it easier to flip the script from a negative thought to a positive one.
